hunting ghillie suits and sports wash?
if deer can see a shape of you in a stand wen wearin plain orange den wat if i make a ghillie out of orange so ill be safe and the deer wont realy make a shape of me...wat do you guys think? and were can i get non scented detergent and has no color enhancers or any thing else that will give me away to a deer
I don't know that making a suit will help, but the detergent can be bought a any popular hunting store or on line at Cabella's.
Hanging your clothes outside does not get rid of the UV brightener in all commercial detergents. Deer as well as many other animals do not have a UV filter in their eyes like we do. If you wash your clothes in a regular detergent, you will glow in UV light.
Don't believe it, try this. Put a small amount of tide in your hands, and rub well. Put hand prints on a wall, and let dry. The next day you wont see the hand print, but if you turn on a black UV light, the kind you find in a head shop, your hand print will glow the color of the detergent.
This is because the brighteners that keep colors looking sharp, reflect UV light. to a Deer, you glow.
I make my own soap, and detergent the old school way with no smell or brighteners. If you are not that ambitious, Walmart will carry it just before hunting season.
