help with camping and hydration system.?

okay well my partner is going hill walking up the west highland way for 9days next week and has an army issued bag and a 3liter trek mates hydration system, now there is no where on the bag we can put this bag and also a combat vest which has a space but only a small compartment at the back but also doesn't fit there. Also we can't seem to get any water out from the nozzle, when he takes that off it works fine but otherwise it doesn't its like there is meant to be a hole but there is nothing we have both tried it but can't get it to work at all. we are unsure if we are just using it wrong or something? anyone got any advice, we're really stomped and this is my partners only way of getting water the whole 9days, i don't want to send him off with faulty equpitment after spending so much money... pelase advice needed

You can put it anywhere in your bag that it fits. Just make sure you close it tight and don't pinch the tube. Some nozzles you have to bite and suck the water out of it. Others you have to turn a part of it some you do both. You should take some way to clean the water you can take a pump filter tablets or you can get a new thing called a steripen that is about 100 to 200 dollars. You turn it on and put it a water bottle and wait and your water is clean. Also you maya want to take more water then that in a water bottle.
