What pants/skirt to go with an olive green top?
I have a brilliant olive green top. It's very warm, has long button-up sleeves (sounds silly but it looks great) and a V-neck; it's quite informal in style but can easily be dressed up. Unfortunately, I never get to wear it because I don't have any pants or skirts that go well with it.

Do you have any suggestions for colours for skirts or pants to go with this top?

The answer depends on your shape and what you want to show with colours. If you wear skirt/trousers of similar or exact green colour you create a long uninterrupted flow of colour without a break/cut at waste which makes you look slimmer and with high heels can create longer legs. However if you want to go for colours that create warmth and harmony a shade of purple would be perfect. I suggest Pansy phttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purple
I mix dark greens and dark purple together and similar to Pansy flower in nature it does look really good together. for a scarf around your neck or perhaps winter boots go for another dark suttle colour which is similar to those two, maybe nice chocolate brown.
I would avoid making every thing the same colour as it might become what they call too 'matched' and that may look like you have spend a great deal of time thinking about how to put the colours together. It has be effortless but just right.
(If however you want to try the same combo in warm climate mix purple and orange. I LOVE that combination. Linen purple top and light orange scarf or skirt.)
