Hunt at Hidden Valley

the winters cold makes me retreat
and seek a fire ... to make some heat
but I can dress up and layer clothes
and knit a warmer for my nose...
the lack of sunlight, makes me sad
It makes me dreary, feeling bad
so if I had to pick and choose,
I'll take the light, the cold will loose

as summer turns her back to fall
and leaves grow tired and dry
the ivy trailing on the wall
will hang on tight, don’t ask me why
and as the full moon crests
peaks through the clouds, bathes the field
the seasons now will rest
as farmers gather up their yield
and pumpkins orange on the vine
upon a bed of dried up leaves
the colors bright define
the fabric of the season weaves
soon snow will coat the ground
frost glazed on window panes, discreet
no longer will my heart expound
into my cave, I retreat
to hibernate, as bears and such
I do not like the winter much
