How do I remove candle wax from fabrics?
My stupid cat, which I am considering skinning alive for this, played with the cord for a candle warmer knocking it and its fully melted bright red apple scented 22oz candle to the floor. It just happened to be next to a long-johns style tan long sleeve shirt , a large blue hiking backpack and a cardboard box with a rare (one of 1700 in the world) item. They, and the beige carpet of my rented apartment now have red wax in it. While the wax was still wet I tried to get up as much as I could from the carpet without pushing it into the weave. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can take care of these problems? Preferably using household items (I have head irons and paper towel help on uncolored wax, I have two trays of ice to further harden the wax, and fabric stain remover if things get desperate). Help!
head irons? Wow, I was destracted, I meant an iron (has the steam option to it as well).
Paper towels and a clothes iron, put the paper towel down on the wax and then put the iron on top of it on medium heat, the paper towel will soak up the melting wax.
Probably no way to get the red stain out of the carpet, Maybe someone else has an idea about that.
Good luck.
